Go to http://www.cmcco.org/cgi-bin/pm/control_panel.cgi then enter your login name and password in the "Access Your Account" section, then click "Go To Account." Enter your new password in the password field and click "Update Account."
Q What if I don't know my Members' Area login name?
A
Send an e-mail to webmaster@cmcco.org
and let me know you've forgotten your login information. I will then call you or e-mail you with your user name, then you can reset your password, if necessary.
Q Why do I have to use a different login for the Members'
section and the forum?
A
The two areas are driven by completely different packages. Each package (Guard Dog and SMF Forums) use their own method for obtaining and storing password information. To sync the two applications and force them to use the same login
methods would take weeks and weeks of devoted web coding and programming, and it is not currently in the scope of the free web management provided by your webmaster.
Q How should I choose my Members' area user name and password?
A
Your user name should be at least 5 characters in length but no more than 30 characters, and your password must be at least 6 characters in length, but no more than 10 characters. Normally, it is not a good idea to use the same login name and password for multiple applications, but for this website, I would suggest using the same login name and password for both the Members' area and the forum. It will be easier for you to remember that way.
If you choose to use the same login information in both areas, keep in mind that Chorale members must use their first and last names in their Forum login, so the same should be done in the Members' area as well.
Q What login name do you suggest I use?
A
For ease of remembering your login, I would suggest using firstnamelastname as your login name. For example, if your name was John Smith, you would create your user as johnsmith.
Q What if my login name is already taken?
A
Consider using your middle initial with your login name.
It is preferred that the telephone be used only for time sensitive issues. I receive e-mails to the webmaster account on my cell phone, and can respond promptly. However, receiving phone calls is not always convenient, considering I have dozens of people using the website and each potentially having questions and wanting to call. The bottom line is that e-mails are the preferred method of
receiving questions.
